Justice for the Fallen: RCB Pledges Support, Government Orders Inquiry Into Stampede

As Bengaluru reels from the tragic stampede that claimed 11 lives, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has stepped forward with a humanitarian gesture. The franchise has announced ₹10 lakh in compensation for each bereaved family and launched a fund named “RCB Cares” for those injured.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah acknowledged the venue was drastically overwhelmed by the unexpected turnout. The state has acted swiftly by commissioning retired Justice John Michael D’Cunha to investigate the mishap.

While four individuals from DNA Entertainment have been arrested, a complaint against Virat Kohli has sparked controversy. RCB’s statement and Kohli’s response reflect genuine grief, but the search for justice must remain focused on operational failures rather than symbolic figures.

This incident reminds us of the delicate balance between celebration and safety—a line that, once crossed, demands both accountability and compassion.
